Dr. Yoon received her Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago and her Masters in Biotechnology from Rush University, then graduated top of her class from the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. While in dental school, Dr. Yoon completed both the oral surgery and implant specialty tracks, gaining advanced knowledge on implant planning and complex surgical procedures. She is also an avid teacher, having served as a tutor for 4 preclinical courses and as a teaching assistant for 3 courses. She received 7 scholarships including American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Student Award and was nominated for Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the dental honors society. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), the Chicago Dental Association (CDA) and the Christian & Medical Dental Association (CMDA).

Dr. Yoon is also fluent in Korean. In her free time she enjoys exercising, listening to music, and going to concerts.
